Sub-ordinate Clause (পরাধীন বাক্যাংশ) : যে Clause তার ভাব বা অর্থ প্রকাশের জন্য Principal clause -এর উপর নির্ভরশীল এবং Principal clause - এর সাথে যুক্ত হয়ে complex sentence গঠন করে, তাকে Sub-ordinate Clause বলে। আর এটি Principal Clause- এর উপর নির্ভরশীল বলে একে dependent clause ও বলা হয়ে থাকে। Sub-ordinate clause চেনার উপায়ঃ clause এর পূর্বে Relative Pronoun যেমনঃ Who, which, what, that, whom. Relative Adverb যেমনঃ When, Where, how, why Adverbial Conjunction যেমনঃ while, before, after, as. as soon as, till, until, because, since though, although, if, so that ইত্যাদি থাকে। অর্থাৎ সহজ কথা Sub-ordinate clause সর্বদাই subordinating conjunctions দ্বারা শুরু হয় যেমনঃ - If, that, who, which, when, how, where, while, whether, since, as, because, though, although, till, until, unless, before, after, so that, whenever, wherever, whoever, whatever, etc. যে sub-ordinate clause কোন noun/pronoun এর পরে বসে ঐ noun/pronoun কে modify করে তাকে Adjective clause /Relative clause বলে। সর্বদাই noun/pronoun এর পরে বসে। সাধারণত noun clause এবং Adjective clause একই ধরেনের linker/connective দ্বারা শুর হয়। পার্থক্য হচ্ছে এর পুর্বে antecedent থাকে কিন্তু এর পুর্বে antecedent থাকে না।Related questions
