Hyperbole শব্দকে অতিরঞ্জিত করে ।অর্থাৎ এটিতে কোন কিছুকে এমনভাবে বর্ণনা করা হয় যা কখনো সত্যি হতে পারেনা ।যেমন - "He had the strength of ten men." বাক্যটি বলা হয়েছে তার দশজন লোকের মত শক্তি রয়েছে ।যেটি বাস্তবে আদও সম্ভব নয় । অন্যদিকে Litotes হচ্ছে Hyperbole এর একদম বিপরীত ।এটিতে বিড়ম্বনা থাকে কিন্তু সত্যিও থাকে । অর্থাৎ এটি false / impossible কোন statement দেয়না । যেমন - "Being tortured with fire must have been somewhat uncomfortable." বাক্যটির অর্থাৎ আগুনের যন্ত্রণা অসহনীয় ।এখানে কোন মিথ্যে বা অবাস্তব কিছু নেই ।Related questions
