-আমরা জানি, যে জিনিস বা নামটি নির্দিষ্ট করে কোন কিছুকে বুঝায় এবং যার অন্য আর কোন অস্তিত্ব নেই সেটিকে Proper Noun বলে। আর, Proper Noun এর সাধারণ নামবাচক Noun কে Common Noun বলে। যেমন Bangladesh হচ্ছে একটি নির্দিষ্ট নাম এজন্য Bangladesh একটি Proper Noun. কিন্তু Bangladesh একটি দেশ বা Country. Bangladesh পৃথিবীতে একটাই নাম হলেও Country কিন্তু সকল দেশের সাধারণ নামকেই বোঝায়। এজন্য Country হচ্ছে Common Noun। -এখন এভাবে যদি Padma, Jamuna কোন Noun হবে জিজ্ঞেস করি, সবাই বলবো এগুলি অবশ্যই Proper Noun. তাহলে Jamuna তো একটি নদী বা River. এখানে একটি নদীর নাম হলেও River হচ্ছে এর Common রূপ। এ কারণে River অবশ্যই হবে Common Noun.Related questions
