Solution: শুরুতেই বলা হয়েছে, Executive দের বার্ষিক বেতনের গড় 550,000. অন্যদিকে Consultant দের বার্ষিক বেতনের গড় 470,000 এবং Employee দের বার্ষিক বেতনের গড় 380,000. এরপর প্রশ্ন হিসেবে বলা হয়েছে, উপরের এই তিনটি তথ্যই সঠিক হলে অপশনের কোন Conclusion এ সঠিকভাবে উপনীত হওয়া যাবে । এ প্রশ্নের উত্তরের জন্য আমরা Process of elimination এর মাধ্যমে একটি একটি করে অপশন বাদ দিবো । এখানে অপশন a) ও b) বাদ যাবে, কারণ Executive ও Consultant দের সংখ্যা কত তা বলা হয়নি । তাই Consultant এর চেয়ে Executive কম না বেশি বা Executive দের চেয়ে কোন Consultant বেশি আয় করেছে কিনা এটা বলা সম্ভব নয় । অপশন d) হতেও পারে, আবার নাও হতে পারে । কারণ Consultant দের সংখ্যা জানা না যাওয়ায় কিছু Consultant যে Lowest paid executive এর চেয়ে বেশি বেতন পায় তা বলা যায় না । কারণ সব Consultant এর বেতনেই যেমন 470,000 হতে পারে; তেমনি আবার সব Executive এর বেতনই 550,000 হওয়া সম্ভব । ফলে এই Assumption টি নিশ্চিতভাবে বলা সম্ভব না । অপশন c) ই সঠিক; কারণ Executive ও Consultant সবার বার্ষিক আয়ের Average = = 510,000. কিন্তু প্রশ্নে দেওয়া আছে সম্পূর্ণ কোম্পানির Employee দের বার্ষিক আয়ের Average 380,000. তাই এখানে থেকে স্বাভাবিকভাবেই বোঝা যায় কমপক্ষে 1 জন Employee আছে যার বেতন Consultant দের Average বেতন থেকে কম । যার ফলে Average বেতন কমেছে বা Decrease হয়েছে । আর অপশন c) এর There was at least one employee who earned less than the average for a travel consultant তে এই কথাটিই বলা আছে ।Related questions
