Gerund (v+ing) এর পূর্বে সাধারণত possessive adjective বসে। -এছাড়াও, Preposition এবং gerund এর মাঝে possessive adjective বসে। -সুতরাং শূন্যস্থানে he এর possessive adjective form হিসেবে his বসবে। Oxford dictionary অনুযায়ী, She insisted on him wearing a suit, She insisted on his wearing a suit দুটোই সঠিক। -তবে formal uses এর ক্ষেত্রে দ্বিতীয় বাক্যটি অর্থাৎ his এর ব্যবহার বেশি পরিলক্ষিত হয়।
