I am fond of swimming. Here 'swimming' is-

    ক)
    a verb
    খ)
    a present participle
    গ)
    a gerund
    ঘ)
    an adverb

    Explanation

    verb এর সাথে ing যুক্ত হয়ে যদি যৌথভাবে verb এবং noun এর কাজ করে এবং বাক্যের শুরুতে বসে তবে তা gerund/verbal noun হিসেবে বিবেচ্য হবে। -gerund একই সাথে verb এবং noun এর কাজ করে বলে একে double parts of speech বলা হয় । -বাক্যটিতে swimming একই সাথে verb এবং  noun এর কাজ করেছে তাই এটি একটি gerund
